Welcome to the Recreation Department’s Wrestling Program!
Program Information
Registration for 2009 Season: Monday, September 14 through until the program begins in December
Wrestling teaches the value of preparation and hard work through head to head competition. Wrestling is a remarkably safe sport and is very controlled under the proper supervision. The focus will be on “Folkstyle” wrestling; which is used by high schools and colleges throughout the country
Ages: Grades K-8, Co-ed
Practices: The program practices at the South Hadley High School from December to February
Equipment: Each participant must purchase their own head gear (approx. $25). You can also purchase wrestling shoes, knee pads and a singlet (none of this is expected or required). Each participant will receive a tee-shirt. Participants should wear a pair of shorts and a tee-shirt to the first practice.
Coaches: Anyone interested in coaching/helping should indicate their intentions on the registration form or call the Recreation Department
