Next Week: Guitar Concert, NASA program, Retirement Seminar
The South Hadley Public Library will present three exciting programs in
the coming week. Each is free and open to the public thanks to support
from the Friends of the Library.
On Monday, July 20 at 6:30 musician Peter Biedermann will perform a solo
concert in the air-conditioned meeting room. Biedermann is a guitarist
who has been writing and performing original instrumental music for over
30 years. While his music covers a number of genres in the electronic
and acoustic fields, his performance at the library will focus on
original acoustic fingerstyle pieces in unique tunings on various 6 and
12 string guitars.
On Tuesday, July 21, following the summer reading theme of "Starship
Adventure At Your Library" the library is pleased to host retired NASA
Adminstrator Robert Frosch on Tuesday, July 21 at 6:30. Dr. Frosch
served as NASA Administrator from 1977-1981 during the Carter
administration and will speak on his experiences "Running NASA". While
at NASA, Dr. Frosch was responsible for overseeing the continuation of
the development effort on the Space Shuttle. During his tenure the
project underwent testing of the first orbiter, Enterprise, at NASA's
Dryden Flight Research Facility in southern California. The orbiter made
its first free flight in the atmosphere on August 12, 1977.
On Wednesday, July 22, Edward Jones financial advisors are hosting a
free 60-minute educational seminar titled "Roll It, Take It, Leave It,
Move It: Know Your Employer Retirement Plan Options" from 6:30 - 7:30.
