SOUTH HADLEY CONSERVATION COMMISSION
MEETING MINUTES
February 20, 2008
Approved at 3/10/08 meeting.
PRESENT: Jack Fleming, Chair; Dennis Swartwout, Vice Chair and Jim Canning. Brad Allen and Art Jackson excused. Janice Stone, Conservation Administrator. The Commission met in the Conservation Office, Room 205
1. 6:30 PM DISCUSSION The Commissioners discussed the Ledges propane tank status, and agreed Janice would meet at noon with Dennis to measure the distances from the stakes to other known locations shown on the plans and in the field. They then proceeded with continuing the review of the draft wetland bylaw regulations. They started on page 5 section 2.1.5 of the definitions, and ended on page 12, section 3.4.3. Discussion about intermittent stream definition and characteristics. More discussion about creating description of the type of conditions that will be considered when approving or denying structures in the buffer zone. Such conditions would include soils, slope, distance to wetland, stability of slope, drainage, size of structure and others.
2. 8:00 PM ADJOURNMENT. A motion was made to adjourn, which was seconded, and voted unanimously in favor. Next regular Conservation Commission meeting March 11, 2008 at 7:00 PM.
